Lovely cute Ama Menec pottery stoneware wall hanging plague with wild dormouse asleep in nest. Base relief design sculpture with life like underglaze colours and copper wash. Quality handmade at her Happy Crab Gallery, Weymouth in Dorset UK.
Ama is a British based wildlife, feminist & historical sculptor mostly known these days for her bronzes.
As an artist and naturalist, Ama is deeply concerned about the war on the wild we are experiencing here in the UK. Her animal sculptures focus primarily on threatened British species such as the badger and our massively hunted foxes, but I also celebrate our many successful re-introductions such as the Red Kites and the naturally self-recovered wild Buzzards. A passionate supporter of re-wildling and she looks forward to the day when we can all live in thriving and diverse ecosystems.
The sculptures measure 12cm (5") by 12cm (5"). They are all suitable for indoor and outdoor spaces. Some hang in multiple directions.
